Not only does the event raise funds for an organization we believe in, but it also focuses on the active lifestyle that we encourage all of our members to embrace. We can not wait to stand at that finish line and congratulate every runner that combined their love of fitness with a worthwhile cause! Until next time, see you at the Gym!
Fitness First – Rockville, was honored to be invited to the The Hebrew Home of Greater Washington’s annual Health and Benefits Fair this week. As Guests, the Training Department and Membership Services were asked to make presentations to the staff of The Hebrew Home, focusing on health assessments and the benefits of weekly exercise. The fair itself is on going, however, our staff presented on Wednesday the 3rd and Thursday the 4th.
Non-Profit that assists the medical needs of the elderly
The Hebrew Home is a local Non-Profit, that attends to the needy with medical treatments and rehabilitation in the Rockville Area. Many of their patients are elderly, or chronically ill. “To work so closely with the staff was a great opportunity. They work so hard for so many ill and elderly but, in many cases the caretakers forget to take care of themselves.” William Stull, APTD stated. Fitness First spent most of their time working with other health facilities and vendors to educate the staff, so they could begin taking better care of themselves.
The Hebrew Home is located on 6121 Montrose Road, in Rockville, MD 20852. As a non-profit, they rely heavily on donations and volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about them, and what they do for the community, just follow this link.
If you are interested in receiving the same fitness assessment that was offered The Hebrew Home, or know a prospective member that would like a tour and consultation, contact Mike or Will at the member services desk. Until next time, see you at the Gym!
Hello and Welcome Everyone!
It is with great excitement that we announce the nativity of our Rockville focused, Fitness First Blog. We are frantically working on our content so that we can offer something motivational, educational, and most of all, fun. We intend on using our blog as an informational hub to assist all of our members with their goals, it does not matter if they are looking to avoid the Holiday 10 or prepare for a half marathon.
We have some pretty big plans for our blog, and we would like to take just a moment to list some of them for visitors. Starting in November, we are going to provide a monthly article on a Trainer of the Month, and a Member of the Month. We will provide weekly articles on; nutrition, work out tips, our charity events, motivational articles, and community fitness events.
We are also going to be following two lucky candidates as they begin new programs, seeking their own fitness milestones. These updates will follow their diet, their projected goals, and the routines they follow. We are going to provide pictures and interviews with the candidates and their trainers. We are certain that these candidates will inspire us all.
Thanks for the five minutes you have already spent looking over our ambitious goals! We look forward to hearing from everyone as we grow into our new electronic space. Do not forget to follow us by email, and feel free to visit any of our partner links, or enroll for our Twitter and Facebook updates. Until next time, see you at the Gym.
